The Santa Clara County Fairgrounds managed by the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Management Corporation (SCCFMC) continues to serve the community as the County’s key emergency response center providing COVID 19 related services to thousands of residents daily, including testing, vaccine and booster shots.  Gateway Hall has served as a temporary homeless shelter over the past two years, providing shelter and services for the unhoused.

In the interim, SCCFMC staff is busy planning for the future development of the Fairgrounds while maintaining the beautification of the grounds.  We are making investments in our facilities and equipment that will allow us to operate more efficiently into the future.

Furthermore, we have reserved a section of our Fairgrounds to keep it active for hosting smaller scale events and our upcoming 2022 County Fair.

This year the Santa Clara County Fair will be dedicated to livestock and home art exhibits.  Admission will be free. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a carnival, any commercial vendors or traditional fair food in 2022, but we encourage you to visit our exhibits and support our youth who have spent countless hours volunteering and preparing their animals for show and the Jr. Livestock Auction.  Hopefully, we can host a full-scale County Fair in 2023.

Our Junior Horse Show will be held at Thorson’s Arena, located at 2005 Hayes Lanes, San Martin on July 10th.  On July 23rd through July 30th, at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds located at 344 Tully Road, San Jose, there will be daily shows featuring our junior livestock exhibitors.   The junior livestock animals represented include dairy cattle, dairy goats, pygmy goats, beef, sheep, market goats, swine, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and turkeys. Check out of our complete schedule listed below.

The Fairgrounds Heritage Foundation of Santa Clara County will have a historic display showcasing memorabilia from fairs past in Heritage Hall.  Are you a crafter? Do you make your own wine or beer? Join us and enter them in the county fair?  There are categories for all ages in the Home Arts Department, and you can enter a number of handmade items such as jams or jellies, baked goods, quilts, customized wood items and so much more! Did you know that some of the finest meat is raised by exhibitors at the Santa Clara County Fair?  If you are interested in enjoying some of the best beef, pork, or poultry you’ve ever had, then purchase an animal from an exhibitor at the Junior Auction on Saturday, July 30th.  You can have a freezer full of premium meat by September.  For more information about becoming a buyer click here.
