2016 Santa Clara County Fair a Huge Success

Preliminary figures show the recently concluded Santa Clara County Fair attracted 16 percent more guests than the 2015 edition. "Any time you can increase attendance by double digits you know you have been blessed with a great year" explained Delana Romero, Executive Director. "I was awed and humbled by the streams of people who came through our gates to have a great day with their friends and families.

Santa Clara County Fair to Host Veterans Fundraiser

The Santa Clara County Fair is excited to hold a veteran fundraiser carnival on Friday, August 5, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. to raise money for the "ALL THE WAY HOME" campaign to end homelessness for veterans.
Ed Hebert, General Manager of local auto auction house Adessa, today announced that the Premier Automotive Group will help sponsor the Fair's annual Demolition Derby which this year is raising funds to "Crush Cancer."
Pig races, corndogs, jugglers and becoming a farmer for a day are a few activities students can enjoy with one of the free admission vouchers the Santa Clara County Fair provided to elementary schools across Santa Clara county this year.

Planning is well under way for the 2016 Santa Clara County Fair. The theme "Full Steam Ahead" signals a Fair which will blend all the traditional events the annual Fair offers plus hands on activities under the banner of S. T. E. A. M.
The Fair is Cool -
No Really, There's a Cool Down Area

Hot days are no match for the Fair. In order to beat the heat this year, the fair crew equipped a new cool down area where fair-goers can take a moment to sit down, relax and cool off from the heat of the day. The cool down area is located on the shaded back patio of Pavilion Hall adjacent to Christopher Park Stage and Little Hands on the Farm. Just look for the cool colorful banner.
Pink snouts, curly tails and fast legs are barreling into the fairgrounds this year as the All-Alaskan Pig Races prepare to make their debut at the 2015 Santa Clara County Fair.
Visitors to the fair can witness these fast-paced piglets, four at a time, dash and jump through a hurdles course, but don't blink, they're quick. Each show is twenty minutes long and features four races.

Rocking out with orange pigtails out, the kid's pop-rock stage show Twinkle Time will return to the Santa Clara County Fair.
Starring Twinkle sporting her signature bright orange pigtails, and her two best friends Happy, a clumsy and shy bookworm that loves science, and Lil Hoopz, who is blissfully aloof and loves anything sports or competitive. The trio performs wearing wacky colored clothing, and puts on a show that will get kids and parents jumping to their feet to dance and sing along.

Fast dogs, hot dogs and chili dogs return for their second year. Wienerschnitzel will host the Wiener Nationals along with a new hotdog eating contest at the 2015 Santa Clara County Fair.
Fair-goers who compete in the hot dog eating contest have the opportunity to win a year's worth of chili dogs. "Contestants can come to the fair this year, eat a whole bunch of hot dogs in order to win a whole bunch of chili dogs," said Travis Hall, advertising director of the event.

"Raise 'em up, Raise 'em up, Raise 'em up high!" will ring throughout the Santa Clara Fairgrounds Thursday night as country music artist, Austin Webb, performs at the Santa Clara County Fair.
Hailing from South Carolina, Webb launched into the spotlight after winning a local song writing competition. He moved to Nashville after a bad break-up, and his winning-demo reached the hands of Grammy award-winning producer Bryon Gallimore who offered him a publishing deal.

The 2014 Santa Clara County Fair has been honored by the Western Fairs Association (WFA) for marketing excellence. This marks the third consecutive year the reborn Fair has received accolades. WFA membership is made up of more than 800 fairs, festivals and related businesses located in the Western United States and Canada.

Waves of Support at the Junior Livestock Auction

Hundreds of students from around the county felt waves of support from buyers during the junior livestock auction at the 70th Santa Clara County Fair. These buyers increased the value of winning bids by offering to add more dollars or "add-ons" than the fair has ever seen.

The Santa Clara County Fair has honored one of its longest serving directors. South County resident Don Silacci was presented the Western Fairs Association (WFA) Blue Ribbon Award at the annual volunteer appreciation lunch. For Silacci the award celebrates a lifetime love affair.
